Sennett First D.A. Candidate to File Ballot Petitions

Sennett Presents Board of Elections with 2,286 Signed Petitions

Jonathan R. Sennett, endorsed Democratic candidate for Ulster County District Attorney, presented county board of elections officials with the race's first set of ballot petitions.

Today marks the first day when a campaign can deliver petitions and all candidates have five days from now to turn in their signatures. "This
is procedural step required to get listed on the ballot for this
important election. Committee members from around the county have done
a great job collecting signatures on behalf of the campaign." said
Sennett.

State law requires that candidates have at least one thousand
petitions. "We have gained over two thousand signatures from Democrats
in Ulster County and we expect to hand in more in the coming days.
Signatures still have not been tallied from New Paltz, Marlboro, Lloyd
and Olive," said Sennett.

"We are running a campaign based upon crime and quality of life issues
here in Ulster County. As a defense attorney, I have practiced in every

court in Ulster County. Prior to that I was a prosecutor in the Bronx
where I brought 30 felony cases to trial. My main goal is to create a
new Ulster County District Attorney's Office--one that focuses on
prosecution, prevention and open lines of communication with law
enforcement," said Sennett.
